I did a night-time funeral last night for the first time in a long time. Grief, loss and death always place a shadow over our hearts. But our God promises, “though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.” (Psalm 23:4)
Where there is a shadow, there is always a light. And the light has a name– Jesus. And the hope we have in Him is that there is a place prepared for His children that has “no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light and its lamp is the Lamb. By its light will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it and its gates will never be shut by day– and there will be no night there.” (Rev. 21:23-25)
So, no matter your sadness, you have hope. If you’re in the shadows today, watch this– and be encouraged that there is a better tomorrow coming!
