On the CNN web site, Chuck Colson has written a fascinating column reflecting on this week’s indictment of Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich for attempting to auction off the US Senate seat held by Barack Obama to the highest bidder.
He begins: “If anyone knows how Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich feels right now, I do”, and proceeds to reflect on his own political fall in the Watergate years. He tells his own story of pride, fall, redemption and conversion. In other words, he shares the gospel.
I confess, I have been much more politically disgusted with this than burdened for what it may signal about his soul. Colson helps me regain some balance.
