A Slice of Ponder

Something new.  A few moments of guided quiet for the Lord’s Day….I’d love to hear your thoughts…

      + A Question to Ponder:

                   — How could we encourage the sort of widespread human compassion we see during profound crises like Haiti to become more common everyday with people in our communities who are  consistently  living through mini-earthquakes of heart and life?

          + A Scripture to Ponder:

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.  Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling….Be still and know that I am God.  I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.”     (Psalm 46:1-3,1011)

            – A Prayer to Pray— whatever comes to mind when you see these faces of Haiti’s fear and hope:

  1. The hymn comes to mind – “Open my eyes that I may see visions of truth Thou hast for me……Open my heart illumine me; Spirit Divine.” We need to see with God’s eyes so we won’t miss those with their personal earthquakes.
